Women of Distinction - Mary Beth Smith
Mary Beth Smith
Founder, Girls Who Print, VP of Sales and Marketing, AlphaGraphics
Texas native Mary Beth Smith has worked in the printing and communications industry nearly 30 years. She brings a diverse background in marketing, public speaking, training and music education to her work. In 2009, she created the LinkedIn discussion group “Girls Who Print.” Initially expecting it to be little more than an online coffee break for perhaps 20 of her friends around the country, she remains shocked, yet thrilled, that as membership nears 4,000, Girls Who Print continues to grow in the United States, Canada and Europe. In August 2012, she announced plans for the first annual National “Girls Who Print” Day, to be hosted at GRAPH EXPO 2012 in October. National Girls Who Print Day launches a yearlong "Peace. Love. Girls Who Print." campaign, spurring a grass-roots movement among women in the industry, to educate our friends and customers that they can all recognize that “paper is our friend” and enjoy guilt-free printing. In addition to her work with Girls Who Print, Smith is vice president of sales and marketing for an AlphaGraphics franchise in Dallas, Texas, where she works hands-on as a real girl who prints.
