Since the killing of George Floyd, we saw a growing reaction around the world. The events, emotions, and concerns triggered a time of reckoning that seemed to resonate with caring people of all political, economic, and faith communities.

As solution-focused people, we have been searching for a way to leverage the past two weeks' experiences to stimulate real, long-term change. That search culminated when we came across the No Place for Hate® Resolution from the Anti-Defamation League.

The Resolution was developed for schools. But as we studied it, it just seemed to be the right instrument to focus on individual responsibility for the needed changes.

People held to the Resolution's high ideals can ensure that bigotry, disparity, and hate are will not be allowed in our personal, religious, business, and political environments.

If you agree with our assessment, may we suggest that you read the Resolution, print it and sign it? Then ask your company, friends, suppliers, and associates to read and sign the Resolution.

Our dream is to see beautifully framed versions of the No Place for Hate® Resolution in companies and homes we visit over the coming year. Each new commitment to No Place for Hate would be a giant step for person-kind.

No Place for Hate® Resolution

I pledge from this day forward to do my best to combat prejudice and to stop those who, because of hate or ignorance, would hurt anyone or violate their civil rights.

I will try at all times to be aware of my own biases and seek to gain understanding of those who I perceive as being different from myself.

I will speak out against all forms of prejudice and discrimination. I will reach out to support those who are targets of hate.

I will think about specific ways my community members can promote respect for people and create a prejudice-free zone.

I firmly believe that one person can make a difference and that no person can be an "innocent" bystander when it comes to opposing hate.

By signing this pledge, I commit myself to creating a community that is No Place for Hate.
